Lewis artist shown in Edinburgh
Lewis textile artist Effie Galletly is showing her work at The Spring Knitting and Stitching Show in Edinburgh this week, displaying quilts inspired by Hebridean landscapes. This is the first time she has exhibited her work in Edinburgh. Effie, who has a home in Lewis, said: “The mix of moors, ocean and ever changing dynamic climate is a major inspiration for my work. All my work is made by cutting unique templates, piecing the fabrics by machine and quilting them by hand." The Spring Knitting and Stitching Show starts on April 27th at the Highland Hall, Royal Highland Centre.
